4-H Livestock Judging Results & PASE Information

Twenty Butler County 4-H’ers participated in the 2008 Area Livestock Judging Contest held recently at the Butler County Fairgrounds.
  • Junior Division: Purple - Cody Sabata, Brittany Hilfiker, and Dawson Schawang. Blue - Dustin Papa, Adam Rethwisch, Jordan Rathje, and Kalan Zeilinger. Red - Alesha Rethwisch.
  • Intermediate Division: Purple - Jenna Rathje and Amanda Clymer. Blue - Allen Hilfiker and Cassandra Rethwisch.
  • Senior Division: Purple - Austin Zeilinger, Kyle Clymer, Tyler Papa, Josh Papa, Joe Peterson, Adam Fuxa and Marcus Eggleston. Blue - Brian Healy.

PASE/4-H Life Challenge Registration Deadline is Fast Approaching

The deadline for registering for the State 4-H PASE and Life Challenge Contests is rapidly approaching (June 13). Animal Science events will be held either June 30 or July 1 at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln East Campus and will include poultry judging, livestock judging, meats identification and judging, quiz bowl, and livestock skill-a-thon. These contests have both intermediate (age 12-13) and senior-age divisions (14+). Life challenge contests include food, wardrobe, and design.

Some of these contests require teams, but many allow individuals. More information about these contests can be obtained from the extension office or via the internet at http://pase.unl.edu/lifechallenges.html .
